In 1998 Prayer and Praise church partnered with Hope Church in Painted Post, N.Y. to begin a mission work in Rivne, Ukraine (Western Providence).  Our work involved us in establishing a Bible Institute, ministering and supporting local pastors and churches, establishing churches, ministering in schools and hospitals, and helping needy families.

Currently we are financially helping Ukrainian pastors and the Bible Institute (now a refugee center) purchase food, clothing, medicine, and other necessities.

We are grateful to the Lord for the generosity of our church and the Body of Christ at large for making this an ongoing ministry.  We are praying without ceasing for the safety and protection of all those who are being impacted by this war.  We are also praying and believing for a cease fire and peace in Eastern Europe.

Dear Larry,

Today I've received your remittance.  Thank you so much for your financial support for us in this hard time.  May God bless your generous hearts.   Last night we received 12 refugees, all of them from Kyiv metro.  Each of them has its own story, but they are all united by one grief.  The elderly couple will live with us while their car will be repaired and then they are planning to go to Poland.  A mother with two children who left a prestigious job, there is a  couple from Belarus that fled from Lukashenko's regime in Kyiv a year ago, but now they are forced to flee Kyiv for the second time.  One female worker was waiting for a salary for work and therefore did not leave kyiv immediately and now she has no money, she was brought to us by volunteers.  Some came further west of our country to live in our seminary.  Also, today another bus with food was sent to one of the churches in Kyiv.  We were able to purchase water, food, blankets and fuel for transportation to take to other churches being used for Refugees.

Another Busy day at the seminary has come to an end.  At night and during the morning a lot of refugees came here.  There are now 40 refugees at the seminary.  A week ago there were students here, now old women, mothers with babies, whole families.  Among the horrors of war there are some fun moments: cats and dogs.  People bring their pets along.  We enroll volunteers because our workers work too hard and are tired, but they are willing to serve.  These days people need medicines that are impossible to find in Ukraine any more.  Sometimes we manage to find some of them in Poland.  Our new ministry is helping people to move abroad.  Thank you for your financial support which enables the ministry to help those in need.

 Updates from Sasha

Dear Friends,

We want to share some news from Ukraine.  Mood swings are in the morning, our volunteer team starts working in a good mood because God has given us another day of peace.  But in the evening our mood changes...when our brave drivers bring refugees from the occupied places, these people are scared, tired, stressed and this mood is passed on to us.  But a new morning is coming - a new day and we have smiles again, because our guests from yesterday are starting to smile.  We believe that it is the Lord who touches them through the ministry of help.  A week ago the first refugees arrived at the seminary.  We have received 150 refugees this week.  We thank God that only one rocket has fallen in the Rivne regine since the beginning of the war.

Greetings, our dear friends,

We apologize that we don't write to you often these days.  As you;ve heard the humanitarian corridors are open from surrounding cities so there are a lot of refugees coming from Kyiv and Irpin.  Yesterday we met and settled people at the seminar until late at night.  Some of them continued their way to the west in the morning.  We have transported 10 to Poland.  Today we are waiting for 30 more refugees, also a lot of people are staying at the seminary.  We are getting tired.  But we are thankful that you are standing with us in this spiritual warfare.  Thank you for your material and spiritual support to minister to us and the refugees.

Updates From Sasha

Good Afternoon Pastor Larry,

Here is a report on the use of the finances in the Ukraine, due to the war, many people who were already poor became even poorer....  For example, in recent weeks, products that were about the same as in the US rose by another 20-40% ( with an average pension of 80-100$)  . Younger people had a better situation, but now they are mostly out of work...  So we bought products to support people a little bit.

Two types of food kits:

I.  Reinforced food set $300 - 6 families bought products for about UAH 1,500 (about $50 each) ( Here we took 5 families who really needed more help and brought their people to the supermarket and they bought food and  household goods for 1500 UAH, and we paid for them.  Also, for the same amount brought products for my family.

II.  Abbreviated food set $200 - Purchase thirteen food kits for about $ 15 each... We bought some abbreviated basic set of products for people from the church.   We had to buy 12, but as we were shopping, a grandmother came to the supermarket and saw that my wife was buying a lot of products, she asked if my wife could buy some products for her )  We have borne the transport costs for the purchase of products...

Thank you very much again for your participation. ( People we bought products from asked: "Be sure to thank them on our behalf)!"  God Bless You.
